Sharon Brahorst of McSwain's Florence store, left, presents Shelley
with her gift certificate for winning the Ugly Floor contest.
Good morning!
In November of 2005, my boyfriend, Paul, and I purchased a beautiful
old house in Wallace Woods (Covington), KY. The house is full of
"character" and wonderful features -- stained-glass windows, pocket
door, tin ceiling, Rookwood fire places. BUT! I think the previous
owner put it best in her disclosure statement when asked about
RECENTLY updated features... She said, "Yes. I updated the bathroom in
1963." Needless to say, our diamond in the rough needs a lot of love
and updates.
I think the most notable "character" we adopted from Wanda was the
slew of ugly flooring. 1" shag in olive greens and a variety of browns.
Red paisley in the basement. Lime and yellow linoleum in the kitchen.
Damaged hardwood. The combinations are endless -- and I think the
photos (attached) speak for themselves.
Help us.
Thank you!
Shelley and Paul
